In our effort to train the mind, strengthen our focus, contain our emotions, and perform at the highest level when facing the greatest challenges, yoga is there to help. Yes, yoga is beneficial for the body in building strength, increasing flexibility, and developing cardio, but it is so much more than that. It provides the opportunity to practice mind control, focus, and breath work, while engaged in physical activity. This then, has direct application to your sport as it replicates what you will face in training, practices, and games; movement, fatigue, physical stress, a wondering mind, and breathlessness. Yoga allows you to work in these conditions to increase your mind control and focus while using your breath to stay present and in tune with your body. We recommend all of our athletes to participate in yoga for all of these reasons.
